The Avenues is laid out on a numbered-street, lettered-avenue grid climbing the bench north of downtown, with Victorian and early twentieth-century homes on narrow, walkable lots. It is one of the most architecturally distinct neighborhoods in the city.

What comes with the age of the housing stock

Homes here were mostly built before 1930, which means original systems, foundations, and additions are common conversation topics before an offer, not surprises after an inspection.

Lot sizes are narrow and consistent with the streetcar-era grid, so what you are buying is closer to the house and the block than to the yard.
